Troubleshooting Ionic Systems

Water Fed Poles

Hydra Poles

Pole segments (telescopic) do occasionally break if too much force is applied. Sometimes poles drop, sometimes they get banged around in the field or inside the van.

Goosenecks

Typically the gooseneck or the top pole section is the most common item to break. The goosenecks can simply be replaced with new ones. You’ll need to identify your pole head type:

  • Grafter

  • Vertigo

  • Vertigo Quick Release

  • Swift

Grafter poles use a plastic angle crank adapter which can be purchased here.

Vertigo poles have a claw top segment and a claw attached to the brush. If only the brush head assembly is broken (and not the brush) then you can order a replacement here.

Vertigo Quick Release poles have a claw top segment and a claw attached to the angle crank which comes in three different lengths. You can order them here.

Swift poles have a fixed metal gooseneck. It’s super rare that one of these would break or bend but if it happens you can purchase a replacement here. It comes in three different lengths. 

Pole Segments

Of all the telescoping segments in a Hydra Pole the top segments are the most commonly broken and typically they need to be replaced. 

Below is a link to each type. You’ll need to look very closely at your pole and on the black transverse clamp (the part glued to the pole, see picture) there is a very small number on each section that shows which one to order. Note: the Top Segment is usually not numbered and on some poles the 2nd segment from the top is either numbered 0 (zero) or no number at all. Choose the correct style from the drop down box on the product page.


Note: The Ionic Mini Pole cannot be repaired. If it breaks you’ll have to order a full replacement.

Fly Leads

Fly Leads are typically pre-made and sold as an assembly; however, you can order each part individually if you don’t need a whole assembly.




 

Filters

Leaking

The most common problem with filters is leaking around the filter cap.

Normally leaks are caused by a cap not properly fastened onto the filter housing or a leaky gasket.

Replacement Snap Rings can be purchased here.

Inspect the Ionic filter canister to make sure there are no cracks showing in the plastic casing. Look for the origin of the leak.

Using Up Filtration

The next most common problem is prematurely using up the filter material.

There can be multiple reasons for this:

  • Operator usage style

  • Continuously running water without shutting off or tempering

  • Not using a Water Softener in hard-water areas

  • Leak in one of the hoses or connectors


 

Pure Water Window Cleaning Systems

The most common problem with systems usually revolves around water flow.

The most common issues are:

  • Connectors

  • Pumps

Sometimes connectors come loose or in rare instances are not connected properly at the factory.

Pumps can prematurely break or vapor lock. Many times this is caused or exasperated by the operator running the pump without water flowing through it. Here is a list of all the pumps.

IMPORTANT: Always make sure that water is flowing all the way through the system and coming out the other end before powering on the pump.
