Please Note: This product listing is for the Vertigo™ Quick Release style configuration for the new Hydra Waterfed poles.
*Each pole requires one fly lead, purchased separately.
Vertigo Quick Release allows the operator to easily remove the Brush Head and replace it with the Vertigo Moerman Tool Adapter; therefore, enabling a range of Moerman hand tools to be used. Examples are a window mop, a squeegee, or a scraper, among others.
You'll need to choose pole length, pole construction (material) and size brush. All Vertigo™ Quick Release poles come standard with a Vertigo Neck in one of three sizes (6 inch, 9 inch or 15 inch). Don't worry, we've pre-matched these necks to the length of the pole you choose. The water flows through the angle crank, preventing any exposed tubing outside the pole.
Brushes are commercial grade and available in 14 in. and 18 in. sizes with Rinse Bar with Pencil Jets as standard.
There are three small options available not listed in the drop-down menu. You can optionally substitute Fan Jets (instead of Pencil Jets). Also you can choose a Flocked Brush if you intend on cleaning cladding or delicate surface cleaning. Lastly you can choose a Lightweight Brush (less bristles to lighten overall head weight).
Please contact us for a custom quote if you intend on substituting for a Fan Jet, Flocked Brush or Lightweight Brush. If you want to own the standard style AND add other brush versions they are listed on our website separately and can be easily added to your cart before checkout.
Below is a video and description of all the types of Hydra poles available. If you are interested in one of the other styles of poles then click the link below:
Ionic Hydra™ Waterfed Pole
Hydra is a lightweight but strong pole platform that window cleaners can configure based upon their specific needs. Therefore just like the mythical Greek serpent Ionic’s Hydra™ pole is available with a number of head options.
Weight Savings
The first thing you notice about the Hydra™ pole is just how light it is. Ionic has really focused on weight reduction and have reduced the wall thickness of every pole section, resulting in significant weight savings and maintained rigidity. Narrow handles provide a more comfortable grip. In order to achieve Ionic's lightest ever pole, every component came under scrutiny, with weight savings being made on nearly every part, from clamps to levers.
One Finger Operation Clamps
The second thing you notice are the next generation clamps on the Hydra™ pole, with slick one finger operation and adjustment these clamps feature patent pending spring assisted release to reduce tube section wear. In addition, the clamps are carefully crafted to ensure tight closure time after time, year after year.
Protector™ Handle as Standard
The final thing you notice is that every Hydra™ pole comes standard with Ionic’s unique Protector handle. The only waterfed pole to meet the British Standard for electrical safety is available to you at no extra cost. It seems that there is barely a month that goes by without news of a window cleaner electrocuted at work. Whilst safer than ladders Ionic believes that waterfed poles should be a no-risk alternative.
Important: A Special Note About the Protector Handle
The bottom section of the pole is the only section that is double insulated, giving protection up to 1000 volts. If the operator uses it in proximity of a higher voltage, there is a risk of it jumping from the carbon sections and electrocuting the operator. It is absolutely essential that the operator or supervisor does a risk assessment prior to undertaking work using this pole. In areas of greater electrocution risk we recommend using a fully fiber glass pole up to 30ft.
Configurable Brush Heads
Hydra™ is a lightweight but strong pole platform that window cleaners can configure based upon their specific needs. Therefore just like the mythical Greek serpent Ionic’s Hydra™ pole is available with a number of head options.
Head Options
The Hydra™ range adopted the tried and tested heads of Ionic's previous Grafter™, Glyder™, Swift™ and Vertigo™ waterfed poles. This means you can select your preferred head and brush assembly, and benefit from the numerous features that are standard on the Hydra™️ pole range, including; light weights, compact sizes, next generation clamps, tubeless storage, protective handle and water-flow shut off.
The Vertigo™ Quick Release system includes a quick release brush variations Ionic Systems Vertigo Quick Release Brush Head Assembly of double trim, light weight, or flocked, sizes 14"or 18", with necks of 6", 9", or 15".
Features
Hydra™ Features
TUBELESS QUICK CONNECTION
Push fit style connection allows for quick connection to and from the pole, saving you time and money. The twist and lock feature within the protective housing prevents accidental separation during use.
WATER FLOW SHUT OFF Allows the user the shut the water flow off by crimping the tube, meaning the pole can be left unsupervised with no water flowing, reducing unnecessary water usage and saving money.
SPRING LOADED CLAMPS
Combined with wear resistant telescopic tubes, Ionic’s patent pending spring assisted pole clamps ensures smooth action, whilst minimizing wear in the pole sections. While other designs insure that poles remain clamped as the section wears, our focus was to engineer out factors that contribute to pole tube wear in the first place. In doing so Ionic’s poles last considerably longer, retain their performance and save you money over time.
MULTIPURPOSE TOOL
When you opt for the Vertigo™ quick release head, you have the ability to transform your Hydra™ into a multi purpose tool. With the Moerman adapter you can fit a range of Moerman hand tools to the Vertigo™ Q/R head, including squeegees, t-bars, scrapers etc. The Vertigo™ quick release spray nozzle is perfect for rinsing, and allows the application of a foam cleaner when combined with Ionic’s Constant Flow™ automatic pump system.
FlyLeads
Hydra FlyLeads
Hydra™ is a tubeless pole, making it neat and tidy when storing in your van. The pole hose, known as a fly lead, is stored on your hose reel when not in use. Choosing the correct fly lead for your Hydra™ is dependent on how it is going to be used. For example, if you have one 32ft Hydra™ then you will require a 16 meter fly lead. But if you have multiple size poles then you only need to have a fly lead to fit your longest pole, so if you had a 32ft and a 55ft Hydra, a 22 meter fly lead would cover both poles. *If you have more than one operator then a fly lead per hose reel will be required.

Category 1: The Professional 12-Volt System
The Storm begins with a 12-volt pump delivering 5.3 GPM at 100 PSI (actual delivery is lower at the tip), providing 35–40 ft of reach—enough for siding, roofs, and most two-story jobs. Built on a lifetime-warranty aircraft aluminum frame, with double-thick chemical tanks, this system is made for durability, portability, and professional performance.
Control Panel & Metering System
-
Bleach Valve (metering): Adjusts from 0–5% Sodium Hypochlorite output. Since most 12.5% bleach degrades to ~10% by the time it reaches contractors, the valve is marked on a “1–5” scale. A Bleach Settings chart on the panel shows recommended concentrations for different applications.
-
Soap Valve (metering): Measures in ounces per gallon, with a “1–5” range. At max setting (5 oz/gal), you’ll have extreme foam—rarely needed except for degreasing. Allows pretreatments such as turning bleach off and running only soap or degreaser via the draw tube.
-
Water Valve (on/off): Simple two-position valve—restricted (50%) for spraying chemicals and open (100%) for flushing at night. Vertical = On, Horizontal = Off.
Three-Valve Control Setup
-
Heavy-duty, marine-rated, multi-position switch for system power and accessories.

NeutraPods® Pods help protect plants and surfaces during exterior cleaning.
Each pod neutralizes sodium hypochlorite (SH) runoff where it often collects.
Place pods in gutters to reduce risk to landscaping and nearby materials.
The pouch dissolves in water, so there is nothing to remove later.
One pod can make about 50 gallons of neutralizing solution, based on SH strength.
Key benefits
- Helps reduce SH damage from gutter runoff
- Simple placement for targeted protection
- Dissolving pouch means no cleanup
Key Features
- Strategic gutter use: Designed for gutters to help protect plants and property
- Water soluble pouch: Dissolves fully to reduce waste and handling
- High yield: Up to 50 gallons of neutralizer per pod, depending on SH strength
Applications
- Gutter runoff protection during soft washing
- Roof wash projects near sensitive landscaping
- Exterior cleaning around siding, walkways, and patios
- Jobsite containment where SH could pool or drip
How to Use and Best Practices
Use in gutters
- Place NeutraPods® Pods in gutters where runoff collects.
- Let water dissolve the pouch and carry neutralizer through the gutter line.
- Use extra pods at downspouts or heavy flow areas.
- Remove debris first so water can move freely.
Water and storage notes
Water temperature, pH, hardness, and contaminants affect stability.
Once dissolved, the solution stays effective for about 5 days in normal conditions.
Keep it sealed and out of direct sunlight for best results.
Do not combine with acidic cleaners. It speeds breakdown and may cause off gassing.
SH Neutralization Guide
Use more pods for stronger SH mixes.
When unsure, use slightly more for sensitive areas.
General guideline
- 2% SH: 1 pod per 50 gallons
- 3–4% SH: 2–3 pods per 50 gallons or 1 pod per 12–16 gallons
- 6–8% SH: 4–5 pods per 50 gallons or 1 pod per 6–8 gallons
NeutraPods Buckets neutralize sodium hypochlorite fast after power and soft washing. The concentrated powder mixes on demand for reliable results. Use it to stop SH activity and protect nearby surfaces. Each bucket includes a measuring scoop for accurate mixing. Choose 3 lb, 6 lb standard, or 40 lb for your workload.
Why pros use it
You get consistent SH neutralization without storing large amounts of liquid. Mixing is simple and repeatable on every job. This helps you finish rinses faster and reduce SH risk.
Key features
- Concentrated powder for on-demand SH neutralization
- High yield for 2% SH neutralizing solution
- Clear scaling guidance for higher SH strengths
- Measuring scoop included for consistent dosing
- Multiple bucket sizes for small to bulk crews
Applications
- Post-wash sodium hypochlorite neutralization
- Soft washing clean-up and rinse support
- Property protection around plants, siding, and hardscape
- Field mixing for mobile wash rigs and crews
High-efficiency output
- 1 lb of powder makes up to 500 gallons of neutralizing solution when used with 2% SH.
- For stronger SH, add 8 oz more per 1% increase in SH concentration per 5 gallons of water.
Best practices
- Mix fresh daily in the field when possible.
