Fast and accurate measurement of TDS (and temperature)

This device is used to measure the Total Dissolved Solids that exist within water and the temperature of the water.

How it works:

A TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) meter measures the amount of dissolved substances in water, which can include minerals, salts, and metals. In window cleaning, particularly when using pure water systems, the goal is to have water with very low or zero TDS to avoid leaving spots or streaks on the glass after it dries. 
Here's how to interpret the readings:
  1.  High TDS Reading (Above 10 ppm):  This indicates that the water contains a significant amount of dissolved solids. If you're using this water for window cleaning, it might leave spots or streaks on the glass because the dissolved solids will remain after the water evaporates.
  2. Moderate TDS Reading (1-10 ppm): Water in this range is cleaner but might still leave some spots. This could be okay for less critical jobs or when the customer isn't too concerned about perfection.
  3. Low TDS Reading (0-1 ppm): This is ideal for window cleaning. Water in this range is considered "pure" and won't leave any spots or streaks on the glass because it contains almost no dissolved solids.
From an operator's perspective: Always aim for a TDS reading as close to 0 as possible, especially for final rinses on windows to ensure a spot-free finish.
If your TDS reading is too high, it might be time to change your water filters in your pure water system.
Regularly check your TDS meter to ensure you're using the best quality water for cleaning. This simple understanding will help you achieve the best results in your window cleaning jobs.
